Used on a couple of occasions now and I can confirm that this is more comfortable to sleep on than a Thermarest. It's warmer too. And cheaper if bought from the guys at ultralightoutdoorgear.
I rate the SL compact 25 too. I can't comment on thermarest but I'm glad you think its better. I would say that the thinner outer fabric might be more prone to puncture more easily than other mats but that's the chance we take. I've not found the 3/4 length a problem either but then again I am short!
