tent peg toilet trowel

A great idea which I came across on Andy Howell's blog. Mine is not as sublimely engineered as Colin's but it should do the trick. It tips the scales at 36g.

Hi Baz. I'm glad to someone else has made one. Couldn't believe it when Colin posted it on his pages! I laughed at the time but it looks bloody good. Might have to get involved myself.

I wonder whether Ultralightoutdoorgear raised an eyebrow at the sudden surge in Blizzard Stake sales in mid-summer?!

I also bought one. Haven't got around to making its handle yet, mind (based on past performance, that will probably happen about half an hour before I pack for our next trip).

I was really easy to make. If you have any of that grippy handlebar tape I'd use that.

I've not used it in anger yet but Darren was of the opinion that it would take longer to dig a cathole with one of these esp if you were in need as it were :)

Gayle, now why do I not believe you :) Given that Mark's online shop is the only stockist he must have seen a spike(!) in sales. Must try and buy a stake in his business...

Just finished mine. 32g, saving 43g over my S2S trowel. Very sad!

It deserves a picture and a few lines on your blog :)

I'm working up to it!

Hi Baz.
thx for the article.
I was looking for a better alternative to my 100g Fiskars trowel.
The idea from Andyhowell is very simple but its indeed a perfect construction to minimize the gearcalc.

It's simple to make and despite Darren's comments it does work as well as a bog(!) standard trowel.
